The Charcoal XL Block Set has a range of grayscale shades, from light to utra dark and blue black. The large, naturally water soluble and highly versatile blocks are soft in texture and deliver smooth smudge effects for expressive mark making. Each chunky block has a large volume of formula in it, equivalent to eight pencils, and has been designed with the strength and body to fit comfortably in the hand, giving optimum control. Break into pieces, or grate into a powder for detail and textures or use the block whole for whole for broad strokes and coverage. Used dry the blocks have a smooth texture and can be used for techniques such as blending, mixing and smudging.
